Loretta leaves to cherish her memory, eight children and their spouses, Barbara Bailey of Lockesburg, Thurman Haney, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents her loving husband of over fifty-three years, Thurman Haney two sons, Les Haney and Marcus Haney as well as her siblings. She best spent her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Loretta was well known for her abilities in the kitchen but is honorably noted for her peach cobbler. Loretta enjoyed sewing and making clothing for her family, fixing hair, watching TV, singing, attending family gatherings, and cooking. She was a faithful member of New View Church of Christ in Center Point. Haney, and to this union, ten children were born. Shortly thereafter, Loretta wed Thurman G. She attended Dunbar High School in Center Point, later graduating from Childress High School in Nashville. Loretta, known to family and friends as “Bobbie Jean”, was born the youngest of eight children to the union of Alonzo and Dorothy Dowd Vaughn on August 12, 1935, in Center Point, Arkansas. Loretta Marie Ola Vaughn Haney, age 88, resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Juanita Hooker will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. (Sandy) and Billie Sue Hooker of Wellston, Oklahoma, a daughter, Anita Gaunt of Dansville, Michigan a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Pat Horne of Texarkana, Arkansas, two sisters, Barbara Erskine of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Judy McDowell of Atlanta, Georgia five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of friends.įuneral Services for Mrs. She leaves to cherish her memory, a son and daughter-in-law, Sanford L., Jr. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Erskine, and Ellis McDowell. She was born on September 15, 1929, in Prescott, Arkansas, and married the love of her life, Sanford Lee Hooker on September 15, 1948, in Prescott, Arkansas. Juanita, one of four children born to Bill and Tommie Martin Horne. Elizabeth Juanita Horne Hooker, age 94, a resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, and former resident of De Queen, died Friday, January 19, 2024, in a Shawnee, Oklahoma hospital.
